New Territories village houses into hostels

Yesterday, the DAB launched an 32b stimulus plan.
Include is that one 'odd' item: "It also suggests transforming New Territories village houses into hostels and building budget hotels in Kwai Chung and Chai Wan."
Didn't we see mainland linked companies buying up village houses lately?

Often thought mainlanders/someone would look upon Sai Kung as the
'Blackpool' 'Skegness' of China - both UK 'resorts' took off during the UK's
industrial revolution offering by-the-sea-side hols for it's work force!
Made them a lot of money for a lot of years.
Would prefer if they'd think of turning SK into a Bournemouth/Torquay or
some the French upmarket Med spots.
